Invest Europe is the association representing Europe’s private equity, venture capital and infrastructure sectors, as well as their investors.
Invest Europe's role is to build global understanding and awareness of private equity, and to make a constructive contribution to policy affecting our membership in Europe.
We do this by explaining how private equity operates and its social and economic value. We contribute proactively and collaboratively to policy which affects European private capital investment.
Invest Europe is the most authoritative source of data, research and insight on private equity, shining a light on the industry's activity in Europe. We promote best practice and the highest standards of professional conduct through our professional standards guidelines and training. And we create must-attend events to foster valuable connections and facilitate the sharing of ideas and information throughout the industry.
Invest Europe has signed up to the European Transparency Initiative, a voluntary register of more than 6,000 organisations and individuals engaging with EU institutions and policymakers. The list includes law firms, NGOs, trade associations and think tanks. When we signed up to the Initiative, we also committed to its Code of Conduct.
Our association was founded in 1983 to represent the venture capital industry in Europe. Since then, private equity has developed into an important source of funding for businesses of all sizes and a crucial part of the investment landscape. We changed our name from the EVCA to Invest Europe in 2015 to reflect this evolution and our expanding membership, which now includes private equity, venture capital and infrastructure investment firms, as well as large professional investors, including pension funds and insurance groups.
